Senior Associate

Virginia is a Senior Associate solicitor who qualified in 1996 and joined Healys Leasehold Services Department in January 2024.

Virginia deals with all aspects of leasehold properties, including Lease Extensions, Collective Enfranchisement, Rights of First Refusal, Right to Manage, and freehold house purchases.

Her work includes the transfer of rights to extend short leases during a sale, variation of leases including licence for alterations, and general lease advice.

Virginia acts on behalf of tenants, landlords, property managers and when a landlord is absent. Her work involves both small and high value matters, the everyday and the complex - but no matter what, she is able to guide her clients every step of the way. She is down to earth and approachable.

She has a background in Litigation and manages applications in the FTT and county court as well as appearing at hearings. She is a member of The Association of Leasehold Enfranchisement Practitioners (ALEP). 

Some of her highlights:

  • Acted for a tenant on a lease with only 4 years left to run (Leasehold Reform Housing and Urban Development Act 1993)
  • Acted for a landlord in the Enfranchisement of a house in a public park (Leasehold Reform Act 1967)
  • Acted for a block of 58 leaseholders in voluntary lease extensions
  • Acted for Landlord in a disposal of a 3 block residential estate (Right of First Refusal- Landlord and Tenant Act 1987)
