    Gemma acts on behalf of both companies and individuals in a variety of actions including contract disputes, misrepresentation, debt recovery, landlord and tenant disputes, property disputes, defamation, IP disputes and professional negligence.

    Gemma’s broad range of knowledge in these areas has enhanced her skills in bringing successful professional negligence claims against a variety of entities including: solicitors acting in conveyancing transactions, divorce settlements and landlord and tenant issues; accountants in the valuation of partnership and business assets; and surveyors in reporting on the state and condition of properties prior to purchase.

    Gemma takes a logical and strategic approach and regularly achieves early settlement for her clients before proceedings are issued.

    Settlement of derivative action brought by beneficiaries of trust against trustee;
    Settlement of a claim against seller of residential property in breach of the special condition indemnifying the purchaser against major works expenses;
    Settlement of claim between landlord, tenant and managing agent where tenant issued proceedings against the landlord for disposal of possessions on conclusion of tenancy;
    Settlement of land action involving adverse possession of a strip of land occupied in excess of 12 years;
    Settlement of a claim for damages arising out of partnership agreement complicated by issues of limitation and applications for security for costs as a result of the client being resident out of the jurisdiction;
    Successfully persuading creditor to withdraw a claim against debtor for recovery of loan where the creditor had failed to serve notice of assignment of the debt;
    Recovery of residential properties where the tenants in breach of tenancy agreement and / or rent arrears;
    Recovery of service charge / ground rent arrears;
    Settlement of claim for unpaid invoices arising out of a business relationship.
