Kemba joined Healys in 2017 as a paralegal in the Immigration team. She moved to the Employment department in November 2017, before being awarded her training contract in May 2018. Kemba studied for the LPC part-time while completing her training contract at the firm, obtaining a Distinction in all modules.
After successfully completing her training contract (with seats in Employment, Dispute Resolution and Real Estate), Kemba qualified as a Solicitor in December 2019 and was retained by the firm in our Employment team.
Through her time as a paralegal, trainee and solicitor in the Employment team at Healys, Kemba has gained extensive experience in advising on all aspects of employment law and workplace issues acting for both employers and employees. Kemba’s experience ranges from defending employers against unfair dismissal and wages claims to advising on complex discrimination, business transfers and other disputes, as well as enforcement of employee contractual obligations including restrictive covenants.
In addition, Kemba provides day-to-day assistance to employers with routine HR issues such as discipline, performance, grievance, and employee status. She is also able to provide technical and strategic assistance with business transfers, whether acting for the seller or buyer in both asset and share sales.
Kemba is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and the lead contact for Healys at the Midtown Business Club.
