The Graduate Visa route will allow international students who have completed a UK degree to stay in the UK for two years after they have completed their studies.
The Graduate Immigration Route will enable international students to work at any skill level, and to switch into work routes if they find a suitable job. The Graduate Visa route will open for new applications in the summer of 2021.
Requirements for the Graduate Immigration Route
The Graduate Immigration Route will be available to international students who have completed a degree at undergraduate level or above at a Higher Education Provider with a track record of compliance and who have a valid Student visa or Tier 4 (General) Student visa at the time of application.
Any student who successfully completes their degree-level course at a qualifying institution in the summer of 2021 or after will be eligible to apply for the new graduate post-study work route. This includes students who are currently studying.
Applicants will not need a sponsor to apply under the Graduate Immigration Route.
Graduates whose Student route or Tier 4 (General) Student route leave expires before the Graduate Immigration Route is introduced will not be eligible to extend their stay in the Graduate Immigration Route. Such graduates will need to consider existing immigration routes instead.
Further information on the requirements of the new Graduate Immigration Route will be published on this page once they have been released by the Home Office.
