Last month, Healys LLP was proud to sponsor and attend FOOTPRINT+ - the new UK property event for a zero-carbon future.Footprint+ is a ground-breaking property conference focusing on reducing the carbon footprint of the built environment and the real estate industry. The event brings together representatives from every sector of the UK property market to explore and discover state of the art methods by which the UK can meet its commitment to become net zero by 2050.The conference attracted around three thousand delegates, including developers, investors, project managers and local authorities; as well as environmental consultants, energy suppliers and lawyers. With over 150 speaker events, a programme of exhibitions, and roundtable discussions, attendees were able to meet with industry specialists and gain the knowledge, expertise and contacts needed to reduce carbon emissions. A team of experienced partners from Healys, accompanied by representatives from leading property investment company Cowell Group, was on hand at the event to share insights and specialist expertise with conference delegates.Healys were proud sponsors of Footprint's 'Step-Up' scheme; an initiative designed to provide a platform for young people interested in a career in real estate to meet the people already making a difference. By providing transport and free entry to the event, over 100 students from London's New City College were given the opportunity to gain valuable insight into the future of the industry, and to make potentially life-changing connections.Riikka Vihriälä, Group Head of Strategic Projects for New City College, said of the Step-Up scheme:"We are grateful to Footprint+ for offering our students an opportunity to participate in this ground breaking event. As part of our Green Strategy, New City College is increasingly embedding green skills in our teaching and learning across all curriculum areas. Footprint+ underlines the career opportunities around the greening of the property sector that our students may wish to progress onto."
Nick Taylor, Partner & Head of Media & Entertainment at Healys LLP, commented:"It was an honour to attend this leading conference and to sponsor the Step-Up Scheme. We are always keen to support initiatives that promote good business and a safer environment for all; and are pleased to have been able to provide an opportunity for students at New City College to learn about and contribute towards a zero carbon future for the real estate industry. We are very much looking forward to coming back again next year."
