At Healys, our Corporate team continues to grow in both strength and depth, enabling us to support an increasingly diverse client base across the UK and internationally.

David Gordon, who joined the team in 2022 has now taken over as head of department. David says:

"I owe a huge debt to Karen and her intelligent Leadership. I am excited to take on this role with its challenges for 2026 and beyond."

Next, we are delighted to welcome Katie McDavitt to the Corporate team, having qualified in March following the successful completion of her training contract at Healys. Katie’s progression reflects the strength of our internal development programme and our commitment to nurturing talent from within the firm. Her experience across a range of practice areas during her training provides a strong foundation for her work supporting clients on corporate transactions and advisory matters.

We are also proud to share that Demi Darbey, one of our junior lawyers, was shortlisted for the Future Talent of the Year category at the Dynamic Awards 2026. This recognition is a testament not only to Demi’s individual contribution, but also to the collaborative and high-performing culture within the team.

In addition, we have recently welcomed a new trainee solicitor, who is already gaining exposure to a broad range of work, from corporate M&A transactions to drafting shareholders’ agreements and assisting on general corporate advisory matters. This breadth of experience ensures that Stephanie is able to develop a well-rounded understanding of the commercial issues our clients face.

As many of you will know, our Corporate team spans both our London and Brighton offices. With Karen Lord’s departure things have shifted slighted and the team is now made up of two partners, four solicitors, two secretaries and a trainee solicitor. This structure allows us to provide responsive, partner-led advice while maintaining the depth of resource needed to handle complex and time-sensitive matters. New head of department, David Gordon says:

"Going forward the team is highly talented and motivated group of individuals which I am proud to lead."

We advise a wide range of clients, from start-ups and scale-ups to established corporates and international businesses looking to enter or expand within the UK market. Our focus is not simply on delivering legal advice, but on helping clients manage and strengthen their commercial relationships, whether with customers, investors or strategic partners.

Our team also regularly shares articles and insights online, so take a look at our most read articles here, or keep an eye on the website for new releases:

As ever, our approach is grounded in clear communication, commercial awareness and a commitment to acting in our clients’ best interests at every stage of the process. Whether supporting a business through a transaction, restructuring, or day-to-day governance, we aim to provide practical solutions that enable our clients to grow with confidence.
